We wear the ribbon to support a man who has brought many of us closer to God and put us on the path to salvation.
We wear the ribbon to support a man who has been unjustly suspended and removed from his parish.
We wear the ribbon to show others that supporters of Father Richard are kind and compassionate people.
We wear the ribbon so that others who are not familiar with the Father Kirkham’s plight begin to ask questions.
We wear the ribbon because we know that Father Kirkham would do the same for any of his flock.
We DO NOT wear the ribbon to divide the parish or cause scandal – the swift suspension of Father Richard and subsequent response from the bishop has caused division and scandal.
We do not attend weekly Mass for the benefit of the diocese, the bishop or for the parish. We attend Mass for the benefit of our eternal souls. If we throw up our hands and decide to stop attending Mass altogether because of this situation, our souls suffers, and Satan smiles.
Therefore, we will continue to attend weekly Mass and wear our blue ribbons in support of Father Richard.
We will continue to volunteer in the parish and support the current Pastor, Father Stephen.
We will continue to be friendly and Christ-like to everyone in the parish, whether they are wearing a blue ribbon or not.
